    For Elementary Education, the course structure, the professional organization requirement, and practical experiences in classrooms were invaluable. The homework showed you the type of work you would be doing, just not the volume.

    EIU provides courses on line and at numerous satellite sites so that students who do not live close to the university can get an education in a more convenient way.

    The teachers offered real life examples and lesson plan activities that everyone in the class received. My advisor lead me decide on an area of concentration that suited me. The college offered a variety of classes for my area and other areas unrelated to my major but still of interest for me.

    Most student groups were friendly and welcoming, even if you didn't belong to that group. There were plenty of groups to join depending on your interests.

    A lot of the facilities have been redone since I left. I have visited the school since and have been impressed with the added buildings, dining areas. The library has been redone befitting the computer ahe.

    Computer labs are up to date. Dining halls have lots of options, but could use better quality food. Classrooms are nice. Variety of styles for dorm rooms which allow students to have options.
