Students and Culture

What letter grade would you give the students/culture at your school?

2.5 Based on 2 Reviews

BA Public Administration/Social Science, Class of 1985

At the time I went, it was mostly people from the mid Atlantic region who were lower middle class. It was a very affordable school, small with personal interest from the professors. Now it is one of the leading small universities on the east coast, and has priced itself out of the lower middle class range. I feel that it offers much more in the way of preparing students for the outside world, but it comes at a cost

    Preppy, mostly Greek life oriented

Facilities

What letter grade would you give the facilities at your school.

4.5 Based on 2 Reviews
  • Alumni
BA Public Administration/Social Science, Class of 1985

At the time, the computer lab was extremely small, as computers were not the big this as they are now. Now, the computer lab is very large and efficient. The dorms were fine back when I went,,, they are now very much more like apartments, unless you want the old style dorm, which they still have them. We had 2 cafeterias when we were in school, and you ate what they had to serve. Now, dining is more like going to a restaurant, with different meal plans. We only had 5 academic buildings, most of which were built between 1895 and 1960, so although they worked, they were not overly up to date. Now there are many more academic buildings, and many more majors from which to choose. At the time I was going there, Education was the number one major.... now there are majors such as theater, pre med and pre law... as well as post graduate degrees

Activities and Groups

What overall letter grade would you give the activities/groups at your school?

3 Based on 2 Reviews

At the time, the most popular groups was Greek life and football games, and I venture to say, that hasn't changed. I know there are many more offerings now, such as large theater productions, concerts, etc
