Career Preparation

What letter grade would you give your school on how well it prepares students for a career in the real world?

3.6 Based on 5 Reviews
  • Alumni
BA in Music, BA in Theatre, Class of 2015

Career development office--very helpful; alumni network that spans the country; majors/minors in business, leadership, ethics, masters degrees in business and technology (and others)

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology & Religion , Class of 2000

There is a career center there but I have no clue what tools they have.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology, Class of 1996

Close contact with faculty, student resource center

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology, Class of 2013

I majored in Sociology because it is a subject that interests me, not because it was a career choice. I want to be a zookeeper. I just wanted to graduate.

Students and Culture

What letter grade would you give the students/culture at your school?

4 Based on 5 Reviews
  • Alumni
    Communications, Class of 1991

Diverse student body. High turn-over in staff.

BA in Music, BA in Theatre, Class of 2015

Small liberal arts college near Chicago--a mix of very rich and very poor, but all very in love with the school. A tight-knit community of students and alums.

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology & Religion , Class of 2000

Liberal arts majors with lots of drama, music, and art studies.

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology, Class of 1996

Mostly residential, traditional age students, culture fairly studious and service based

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology, Class of 2013

It was very preppy, a lot of more wealthy kids. Most kids were from the surrounding suburbs so it was easier to live at home and save money.

Facilities

What letter grade would you give the facilities at your school.

4.2 Based on 5 Reviews
  • Alumni
BA in Music, BA in Theatre, Class of 2015

Constantly building new dorms, in the process of a complete overhaul of academic buildings--new science center, revamped classroom buildings. Music building was built purely for fundraising...gorgeous concert hall, no practice rooms, studios, or locker rooms. dorms ranged from brand new to severely beaten and old. Dining hall was literally the worst.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology & Religion , Class of 2000

The computer lab was awesome when I attended, but I don't know how they are now. The dorms are fine; they get better the further along you get in your college years. The dining hall was pretty horrible when I attended, but it now has top notch chefs. The classrooms were average.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology, Class of 1996

A lot of renovation and new development has occurred, things are very modern

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology, Class of 2013

The buildings at the school were pretty old, so there were limits to what could be done in some of the buildings. However, they had very good facilities!

Activities and Groups

What overall letter grade would you give the activities/groups at your school?

4.4 Based on 5 Reviews
  • Alumni
BA in Music, BA in Theatre, Class of 2015

Division 3 marching band (!!!), Focus (the Christian worship group), union activities board. Big events were homecoming, block parties, spring fest.

  • Alumni
    Sociology & Religion , Class of 2000

I would say the community involvement is unique. Naperville offers so many cool opportunities for students to pair up with hospitals, museums, labs, and grade schools for real world studies. I did three independent studies in my four years involving following a local band and ended up married to the radio show DJ from the college station that introduced me to the band members. We are going to see the band at House of Blues this weekend,my husband still uses his promotion skills he learned in his career, and I support our North Central by attending ask any of the performances they offer through the recently expanded theater program.

I have no idea I'm not much of a joiner!
