4 Based on 5 Reviews
  • Alumni
    Mathematics, Class of 1979

up to date technology, comprehensive curriculum, internships

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology, Class of 2004

Gen Ed requirements include social science classes. Career center provides practice interviews and sets up job fairs.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    History, Class of 2004

SCU has an office of career services (something like that) that helps you write resumes, practice job interviews, etc. They also place students in work study jobs and internships. The alumni connection is huge for networking in the bay area. They hold tons of events throughout the year.

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
Bachelor of Arts - English, Class of 2007

LOL, I have a really expensive piece of paper that basically did nothing for me.

Students and Culture

What letter grade would you give the students/culture at your school?

4.2 Based on 5 Reviews
  • Alumni
    Bs, Class of 1981

Mixed races, Jesuit instruction, ethics focused, strong in writing, law, business, sciences

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Mathematics, Class of 1979

    multi-cultural, goal oriented, faith based

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology, Class of 2004

While many of the students on campus are entitled, I would say that the culture of the school overall is committed to social justice and building community.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    History, Class of 2004

It's a smaller Catholic private school, so there are lots of people interested in social justice and giving back to the community. There is also a good amount of partying and socializing as well.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
Bachelor of Arts - English, Class of 2007

B+/A- students, mostly white catholics, laid back attitude.

Facilities

What letter grade would you give the facilities at your school.

4 Based on 5 Reviews
  • Alumni
    Bs, Class of 1981

They have everything most students are looking for in a smaller environment. Lost the football program years back.

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Mathematics, Class of 1979

not brand new, but well maintained

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology, Class of 2004

It depends on the building/ major. The smaller, less popular majors are in older buildings with fewer luxuries. The older dorms have smaller rooms. However, the campus overall is comfortable, clean, and safe. There is adewuate access to everything that students need to feel at home.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    History, Class of 2004

Most facilities were built in the 1960s but are currently being updated (the library was completely rebuilt about 5 years ago). Dorms are being modernized. Some buildings are still very old, no air conditioning, etc.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
Bachelor of Arts - English, Class of 2007

a mix of brand new and very old. No in between. Depends what classes and what your major was.

    3 Rated January 2016
A- Excellent
Activities and Groups

What overall letter grade would you give the activities/groups at your school?

3.8 Based on 5 Reviews
  • Alumni
    Bs, Class of 1981

Back then, lots of social groups. I have no clue about now.

    4 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    Sociology, Class of 2004

I spent most of my time and made a lot of my friends at the Multi-Cultural center. We also made use of late night dining on campus. Once you're 21, check out The Hut, just off campus. Before you're 21, house parties are the way to go.

    5 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
    History, Class of 2004

I don't know, I was a transfer student who lived off campus. The Greek system is kind of popular, as is the spirit squad for sports games.

    3 Rated January 2016
  • Alumni
Bachelor of Arts - English, Class of 2007

Athletics. No Greek System and no Football team. Very little in the way of activities.

    2 Rated January 2016
