Scripps is amazing at providing opportunities for students -- from on site workshops and career fairs to a career center that is wonderfully helpful, Scripps rocks! The curriculum is also fantastic. It is rigorous, challenging, and incredibly engaging. I felt truly well educated when I graduated.

Students and Culture

What letter grade would you give the students/culture at your school?

Very much a small women's liberal arts school geared toward strengthening and empowering women

Scripps is a pretty laid back school in many ways -- plenty of garden space in which to hang out with friends or while studying, great dining hall food, friendly people for the most part, and the best professors I have ever met. It is a great place all around. Yes, you get the occasional jerk or snob, but what school doesn't have those? Oh, and even though Scripps is a women's college, since it is part of the Claremont Colleges consortium, the classrooms are co-ed, and Scripps students can take courses at any of the schools.

A+ for facilities -- the classrooms are top notch, the computer labs are state of the art, and the dining halls are wonderful! I lived off campus, but when I visited the dorms they were really nice.

It has been a long time and I don't know what it's like there now

There are all kinds of unique activities at the school, many of them in the form of traditions that follow from one class to another. One unique tradition that comes to mind is the grad wall in the back garden. Every class since the school was founded writes their names within the class year artwork on the wall during grad week, and it is a fun, beautiful time capsule. There are also a ton of clubs for anyone who is interested in trying something new during their free time.
